SUMMARY:SNS JU projects and others at Sustainable Places 2024 workshop “Towards Sustainable 6G mobile networks” in Luxembourg
DESCRIPTION:This workshop aims to explore the connection between sustainability and 6G mobile networks\, focusing on integrating environmental considerations into the design\, deployment\, and operation of future wireless communication systems. It will convene EU-funded collaborative projects to develop energy-efficient network architectures\, renewable energy integration\, life cycle assessments\, eco-friendly materials\, and policy frameworks. The goal is to catalyze advancements towards a more sustainable and environmentally responsible era of wireless communication\, promoting innovative approaches\, green technologies\, and holistic strategies for minimizing the ecological footprint of 6G networks. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContributing projects: 6G-TWIN\, BeGREEN\, COALESCE\, CENTRIC\, 6Green\, Zero-Swarm\, 6G4Society and IN2CCAM \n\n\n9 speakers \n\n\nSébastien Faye – 6G Technology and Innovation Line Manager from Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST)\nRégis Decorme – Managing Partner fromR2M Solution France\nSimon Pryor – Research & Innovation at Accelleran\nIndrakshi Dey – Researcher & Lecturer from Walton Institute for Information and Communications Systems Science\nFrancesco Malandrino – Senior Researcher from CNR-ITAE\nChiara Lombardo – Doctorate from CNIT & University of Genoa\nPouria Sayyad Khodashenas – Principal Researcher from Huawei\nMonique Calisti – CEO from Martel Innovate\nMaria Pia Fanti – Full professor from Polytechnic University of Bari\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKey Information\n\nDates: 23rd-25th September 2024\nPlace: European Convention Center Luxembourg\nWebsite: https://www.sustainableplaces.eu/\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConference Scope\n\n\n\n\n\nSustainability targets and climate change objectives cannot be met without addressing buildings and the built environment at the building\, district and urban scale including our transport and energy infrastructures. Renowned for showcasing results coming out of the EU Horizon 2020 and EU Horizon Europe Framework Programme via the participation of cutting-edge research and innovation projects\, the scope of Sustainable Places is captured directly in its name. It involves designing\, building and retrofitting the places we live and work more sustainably. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConference Concept\n\n\n\n\n\nSustainable Places prides itself on being an ideal platform for the dissemination of research\, the conduct of workshops\, EU project clustering and networking between stakeholders of all types. SP2024 will be held over three days in a hybrid (digital + in-person) event format. Between opening and closing keynote sessions\, parallel technical sessions and project-organized workshops will explore the various conference themes. Given world events we encouraged submissions on technology transfer\, renewable energy implementations and energy security to facilitate actions that increase the rate of renovation and renewable energy implementations. \n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatch the 2023 highlights\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConference Themes\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach year\, Sustainable Places features topics that are shaping how we think about cities and the built environment.
