Webinar – Hexa-X-II Key Values and Key Value Indicators
Tutorial webinar: Wednesday 18 December 2024, 14:00 CET
Join us for an insightful tutorial webinar, during which Hexa-X-II experts will discuss the transformative role of Key Values (KV) and Key Value Indicators (KVI) in shaping the future of 6G.
Date: Wednesday, December 18, 2024
Time: 14:00–17:00 CET
Location: Online
This interactive session will share our methodology, practical experiences, and lessons learned in applying a value-based approach to use case design. Through real-world examples and step-by-step guidance, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of how KV and KVI can drive meaningful innovation and sustainability in 6G development.
Key topics include
- The motivation and benefits of a value-based design approach
- Step-by-step application of KV/KVI for a use case
- Insights into Hexa-X-II’s refined processes and methodologies
- Identified gaps and future research outlook
This is an opportunity to engage directly with leading researchers, ask questions, and gain valuable insights to apply in your work.
Value based design of technology is recognized as a requirement for impactful environmental, social and economic outcomes. A first step in this design process is the recognition of global human and planetary goals and the development of use cases towards positively impacting these goals. The subsequent steps of target setting for desired use case outcomes as key values (KVs) and their indicators (KVIs) as well as the association of technology enablers with these value outcomes is a rather challenging process for technologists as it involves numerous inter-disciplinary and multi-stakeholder aspects and subjective and qualitative assessments in addition to the objective, quantitative measurements we are used to.
In Hexa-X-II WP1, we embarked on an experiment, to turn this intricate process into a practical, step-by-step approach that we can run in time-constrained research projects. 6G-IA SNVC group had published a number of reference papers on the topic and they have been our starting point. Needless to say, we encountered many challenges along the way and developed our mitigation strategies. We have also determined some limitations of the process but also ourselves in terms of tackling global challenges, over which we do not have full control.
In this webinar, we would like to share our process and learnings through not only the concepts developed but also exercising a step-by-step example from one of the Hexa-X-II use cases. We will also share our perspective on the research challenges that we think need to be handled going forward.
