The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) is committed to high standards of integrity, sound financial management, transparency and accountability.
SNS JU applies an internal control framework and anti-fraud measures designed to prevent, detect and address fraud, corruption, conflicts of interest, irregularities and other misconduct affecting the Union’s interests.
Internal control
SNS JU applies an Internal Control Framework (ICF) designed to provide reasonable assurance that its objectives are achieved effectively and efficiently, that financial and management information is reliable, that applicable rules are respected, and that resources are appropriately protected.
The framework is proportionate to the size of the JU and supports all key processes, including governance, grants, procurement, finance, human resources and IT. It is complemented by a risk management system, regular monitoring and continuous improvement measures.

Anti-fraud
SNS JU implements an Anti-Fraud Strategy, aligned with the European Commission approach, to prevent, detect and address fraud, corruption, conflicts of interest and other irregularities affecting the Union’s financial interests.
The strategy is based on risk assessment, awareness-raising, preventive measures and cooperation with EU bodies, including the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF)..

OLAF-related framework
Ethics and conflicts of interest
Integrity and impartiality are essential to SNS JU’s governance and operations. SNS JU applies rules and procedures on ethics, confidentiality and the prevention and management of conflicts of interest.
Members of governance bodies and staff are expected to act independently, impartially and in the public interest.
SNS JU also encourages the reporting of serious irregularities and concerns in accordance with the applicable rules. Reports are handled through the relevant procedures and with due regard for confidentiality and the protection of persons involved.
