6G KVIs – SNS Projects Target Values and Survey Results 2026 – New SNS JU White Paper (October 2026)

The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) Test, Measurement, and Validation (TMV) Working Group has published an updated white paper on 6G Key Values and Key Value Indicators (KVIs).

Building on previous work by the 6G-IA TMV and Societal Needs and Value Creation (SNVC) Sub-Group, the white paper consolidates the latest research results, methodologies, validation approaches, and target values from SNS JU projects. It examines how KVIs can be defined, measured, and validated to assess the societal, environmental, economic, and human-centric impact of future 6G networks.

The findings confirm that KVIs are becoming an essential component of the 6G validation ecosystem, supporting network development, experimentation, standardisation, and policymaking. While significant progress has been made, further research is needed to harmonise definitions, establish common validation methodologies, and test KVI frameworks under realistic conditions.

The white paper highlights the importance of evaluating future 6G networks not only through technical performance, but also through their contribution to sustainability, societal well-being, economic prosperity, trustworthiness, and European strategic objectives.
