Fourth and Fifth SNS JU calls for proposals

The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) 2025 4th and 5th Calls for Proposals are now closed.

The Calls were open for submission until 18 September 2025 on the EU Funding and Tenders Portal.

Call for proposals, including Stream B and Stream C, opened on 22 May 2025: it focused on advancing Europe’s leadership in Beyond 5G and 6G technologies. A total of €104 million in EU funding has been allocated to support these R&I activities as part of the SNS JU R&I Work Programme 2025.

Call for proposals including Stream D, opened on 18 June 2025: it focusses on supporting advanced 5G/6G Trials and Pilots in Key Vertical Sectors. With a dedicated budget of €24 million, this call for proposals is expected to explore and demonstrate technologies and advanced applications and services in key vertical domains.

Third SNS JU call for proposals

The SNS JU launches its Third Call for Proposals 2024 on the EU Funding and Tenders Portal. This call was open on the 16th of January 2024 with a deadline on the 18th of April 2024.

An SNS Call 3 Information Day was held online to give a detailed overview of the SNS JU Call 3 ambitions, focus and selection criteria and to assist those interested in submitting a proposal to share their ideas and find partners by joining the SNS brokerage platform.

On the 7th and 14th of March 2024, two SNS JU Webinars were organised to introduce the Call 2 SNS projects, their partners and visions on how they were about to shape a solid research and innovation (R&I) project net in Europe in 5G and 6G networks and services.

Second SNS JU call for proposals

The SNS JU launches its Second Call for Proposals 2023 on the EU Funding and Tenders Portal. The call opened on the 1st of January 2023 with a deadline of 25 April 2023.

On the 23rd of January, potential applicants had the opportunity to learn more and ask questions at the SNS Call 2 Information Day held online and share their ideas and find partners by joining the SNS brokerage platform.

On 14 December 2022, the SNS JU adopted its Research & Innovation (R&I) Work Programme 2023-2024, announcing €132 million of EU funding for this second Call to advance 6G Research in Europe and to develop test and pilot infrastructure capabilities.

First SNS JU call for proposals

At its first meeting of 15 December 2021 the Governing Board adopted the Work Programme 2021/22.

The first SNS call for proposals was published on the 18th of January 2022 and closed on the 26th of April 2022.

The first SNS Information Day, jointly organised by the EC and the 6GIA took place on the 27th of January 2022. Recordings and presentation slides are available.
