SNS JU Launches its new Call for Proposals 2025 to Support Advanced 5G/6G Trials in Key Vertical Sectors
Brussels, 20 May 2025 — The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) is pleased to announce the publication of its new Call for Proposals 2025 dedicated to funding “Trials and Pilots with Verticals” (Stream D), after approval of the SNS JU Governing Board.
This new call expands the strategic effort initiated with the previously launched Call for Proposals for Stream B and C, extending the SNS JU commitment to accelerating vertical sector adoption of advanced connectivity technologies.
With €24 million in EU funding, this Call complements the €104 million already allocated under Streams B and C, bringing the total EU public investment for 2025 to €128 million.
This Call is expected to focus on key relevant vertical sectors where industry can validate 5G Advanced / 6G technologies and solutions in real operational environments, and experiment viable business models to monetise 6G services and applications.
The focus is on high-impact verticals such as:
- Industry and Manufacturing
- Media
- Transport and Logistics
- Emergency and Safety Services
- Healthcare
This Call for Proposals shifts the focus toward an in-depth exploration of specific challenges – so-called “pain points” – within individual vertical sectors. The goal is to co-develop and demonstrate solutions that address concrete adoption barriers, paving the way for mature, near-future deployment and commercial use.
📅 The Call opens on 18 June and the deadline for submissions is 18 September 2025 at 17:00 CET.
The SNS JU 2025 Calls for Proposals announcements follow the successful implementation of previous Calls, which have already allocated more than 500M€ of EU public investment to boost Advanced 5G and 6G research and innovation across Europe.
