SUSTAIN-6G Webinar: (A methodology for) Defining 6G Sustainability Requirements from a Value/KVI Perspective
How can sustainability principles be translated into measurable indicators that influence the design of future 6G systems?
In this public webinar, which will be organised on Thursday 12 November 2026 from 9:30 to 12:00 CET, SUSTAIN-6G will present the methodologies developed within WP2 for defining sustainability requirements, Key Values (KVs) and Key Value Indicators (KVIs). Participants will gain practical insights into the SUSTAIN-6G sustainability framework and learn how sustainability-driven methodologies can be applied in both operator and vertical use case contexts.

The webinar will bring together experts from academia, industry and the wider SNS JU community to discuss future directions for sustainability assessment, standardisation and impact evaluation in 6G.

Explore more about the SUSTAIN-6G methodology for defining sustainability requirements and its application by reading the D2.2 Key values and needs for sustainability, including KVI definition process, applied to eleven use cases, including a mobile network operator (MNO) use case and ten use cases from vertical scenarios agriculture, energy, and e-health.
The proposed methodology offers a structured approach for deriving sustainability requirements, beginning with the identification of stakeholders’ sustainability needs, key values, and key value indicators (KVIs), which ultimately enable the formulation of use case specific, vertical specific and cross vertical sustainability requirements. The work presented herein aims to guide sustainability research within SUSTAIN-6G and, more broadly, to bridge the gap between technology development, commercial adoption, and policymaking across the information and communication technology, and vertical industries.
