Strong turnout in London for “Unlocking Horizon Europe Opportunities within Advanced Connectivity Technologies”

The SNS JU extends its thanks to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Innovate UK for organising,  and Digital Catapult, for hosting a well-attended event in London on 17 September, bringing together the UK ecosystem to raise awareness of and foster participation in the SNS JU Programme.

Titled “Unlocking Horizon Europe Opportunities within Advanced Connectivity Technologies,” the in-person gathering aimed to build strong UK participation in the 2027 SNS JU calls, encouraging UK companies and researchers to engage with Horizon Europe funding opportunities and to explore consortium-building with both UK and EU partners. The day combined speaker sessions, panel discussions, and dedicated networking time.

Javier Albares, SNS JU Head of Programmes, and Alexandros Kaloxylos, 6G-IA Executive Director, presented an overview of SNS JU’s activities, including the priorities shaping the 2027 Work Programme. 6G research and innovation, it was noted, matters not only for connectivity but, crucially, for digital sovereignty and for the competitiveness of Europe and its partners.

Particularly valuable was the direct input from participants in current SNS JU projects, who shared their hands-on experience and offered practical guidance on how UK entities can get involved.

Looking ahead

The Annual Work Programme 2027 will be published in December 2026 on the European Commission’s Funding & Tenders portal. In January 2027, SNS JU will also host an Info Day and Brokerage Event to support proposal preparation and consortium building.

Building on this momentum, SNS JU aims to organise similar sessions with other Member States in the months ahead.
